Hardin man charged with incendiary device

HARDIN — A Calhoun County man is facing explosives, drug and trafficking charges following an incident Saturday night in Hardin.

At 10:02 p.m. Saturday, the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on Park Street near Main Street in Hardin. Following an investigation, the driver, Johnathan E. Myers, 35, of Hardin, was arrested on four counts: disobeying a traffic control device; driving with a suspended licence; illegal possession of methamphetamine; and illegal possession of drug paraphernalia.

Myers was arrested without incident and taken to the Jersey County Jail. On Sunday, the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office tracked and executed a court-authorized search warrant at Myers’ residence. Following the execution of the warrant, authorities discovered items used to manufacture an explosive or incendiary device, methamphetamine and controlled substances.

Myers was additionally charged with possession of an explosive or incendiary device; illegal possession of methamphetamine; and illegal possession of a controlled substance.


Myers remains in the Jersey County Jail on $100,000 bond.
