Russell Wilson’s ‘wristband’ takes another twist with QB spotted with device after back-and-forth with Pete Carroll

Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson and Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll enjoyed great success in their decade with the team.

The conversation has now shifted to bracelets. Carroll said his former quarterback was “resistant” to wearing a bracelet to help play during his time with the Seahawks. The Super Bowl-winning quarterback replied:

“I won a lot of matches there without wearing a bracelet. I didn’t know winning or losing mattered whether you wore a bracelet or not.

Broncos head coach Nathaniel Hackett was also asked to share his thoughts on the ‘wristband holder’ after Carroll and Wilson made headlines. He was specifically asked why the quarterback was now wearing a bracelet in Week 8 against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Hackett said:

“As we said from the very beginning, we looked at everything. And kind of thinking about anything we can do to help our process, help our offense. Do whatever we have to do. Whether (the bracelet) is going to be the reason we win or lose a game, looking back to the Jacksonville game, I don’t know.”

He added:

“But we still want to assess everything and try to find a way to improve. If it’s going to help us improve, then we want to do it.”

Why did Russell Wilson leave the Seahawks?

People in the Seattle Seahawks front office, coaching staff and players as well as those close to the quarterback say the dysfunctional situation has moved to its conclusion as the nine-time Pro Bowl quarterback wanted to leave Seattle.

According to a report from ESPN, the quarterback wanted out, and Carroll and the franchise were holding him back. Also, as the team began to doubt his game, they lost faith in Russell Wilson, just as he had lost faith in the team.

Doug Baldwin, a teammate of Wilson’s for seven seasons with the Seahawks, said the break had to happen:

Baudouin said:

“From my point of view, the divorce was inevitable and took many years to prepare. The reasons are many, but in the end I think it comes down to a difference in activities.”

Ultimately, the Seahawks traded their longtime quarterback to the Denver Broncos this offseason. The Broncos are currently 3-5 while the Seahawks are 6-3, leading the NFC West division.
